ROOFING SYSTEM
A Roof Is a System, Not Just Shingles
Shingles are only one layer. Each component works together to shed water, resist wind and help the roof last. We explain which components make sense for your home before work begins.
Architectural Shingles
Laminate shingles in a range of styles and colors, including GAF Timberline HDZ and the premium Timberline UHDZ with Dual Shadow styling.
Shingle Technology
DuraGrip sealant, LayerLock nail-line reinforcement and StainGuard Plus algae protection help shingles stay sealed, stay fastened and stay clean.
Leak Barriers
Self-adhering WeatherWatch and StormGuard leak barriers add protection along eaves, valleys and other areas where water is most likely to get in.
Underlayment
FeltBuster, Tiger Paw and Deck-Armor underlayments add a protective layer over the roof deck, with options for added traction or breathability.
Starter Strips
Pro-Start and WeatherBlocker starter strips provide a continuous line of sealant along eaves and rakes to help secure the first course of shingles.
Attic Ventilation
Balanced intake and exhaust, including IntakePro intake vents as an alternative to extensive soffit work, Snow Country Advanced ridge vents, solar attic fans and power fans.
Pipe Boots and Vents
Pivot all-metal pipe collars and Master Flow all-metal bath and dryer vents for the penetrations where roof leaks often start.
Ridge Cap
Seal-A-Ridge and TimberTex ridge cap shingles finish the peak of the roof. TimberTex is Class 4 impact rated.
Low-Slope Roofing
Liberty self-adhering low-slope roofing for flatter roof sections, installed without the need for open flame.
Product availability and recommendations vary by home and project. Materials and options are confirmed before work begins.
